Meet the Chef: Roberto Pittalis Brings a Taste of Sardinia to Stokesley Show

Aug 15, 2026 | Show News

We’re delighted to welcome Roberto Pittalis, co-owner and founder of Café Lilli, to Stokesley Show this September for a live food demonstration celebrating the best of local produce with a Mediterranean twist.

A Taste of Sardinia in the North East

Originally from Sardinia, Italy, Roberto brings a distinct continental and Mediterranean flair to everything he cooks. Alongside his business partner he has run Café Lilli on the High Street in Norton-on-Tees, Stockton-on-Tees, for over two decades — just a 20-minute drive from Stokesley — building it into a long-standing and much-loved fixture of the local food scene.

A Genuine Commitment to Local Produce

Sourcing locally has always been central to how Roberto cooks. An impressive 80% of the ingredients used at Café Lilli are sourced from local producers, including a wide range of regional meats, fish, and cheeses. The restaurant’s fresh pasta is even made in-house each day using locally milled spelt flour, reflecting Roberto’s love of ancient grains and traditional Italian technique.

That commitment to quality and community has earned Café Lilli recognition from the likes of The Good Food Guide and Slow Food UK — a fitting pedigree for a chef joining us to celebrate Yorkshire’s food heritage.

Join Roberto at the Show

Roberto will be bringing his Mediterranean flair and passion for local, seasonal ingredients to Stokesley Show, with live food demonstrations showing just what can be created when Italian technique meets Yorkshire produce.
