This September, Stokesley Show is delighted to welcome back Ian Munro of The Velveteen Rabbit Luncheon Club, who’ll be joining us to celebrate the very best of local produce with live food demonstrations on the day as well as sponsoring the Scrumptiously Stokesley marquee.

A Passion Twenty-Five Years in the Making

Ian has spent 25 years honing his craft, working in some of Teesside’s best-known kitchens along the way. It was through this journey that he met his business partner and fiancée, and together, over eight years ago, they began building towards a shared dream: a bistro of their own.

The Velveteen Rabbit Luncheon Club

After some time spent on the road building up a loyal following, Ian and his partner found their forever home for The Velveteen Rabbit Luncheon Club in Great Ayton, where they’ve been welcoming guests since 2018.

Ian still fronts the kitchen in Great Ayton himself, with a continued passion for good, honest, home-cooked food at the heart of everything he does. And despite having a bistro to run, he still loves getting out and about, taking the Luncheon Club’s market stall to food festivals across the area — which is exactly how we’re lucky enough to have him joining us at Stokesley Show this year.

Celebrating Local Produce at the Show

Ian will be bringing his years of experience and his love of great local ingredients straight to Stokesley Show, with a live food demonstration showing just what can be done with produce grown and reared right here in North Yorkshire. It’s a perfect fit for a show built on celebrating our farming and food heritage — and a real treat for anyone who loves good food as much as we do.
