This September, Stokesley Show is bringing together some of the region’s finest culinary talent for a celebration of local produce, all served up through live food demonstrations across the day. From award-winning pub food to Sardinian flair, education catering to home-cooked bistro classics, here’s who’ll be cooking up a storm on our showground this year.
Ian Munro — The Velveteen Rabbit Luncheon Club – 11.00
With 25 years in some of Teesside’s best-known kitchens behind him, Ian now fronts The Velveteen Rabbit Luncheon Club in Great Ayton alongside his business partner and wife. Still passionate about good, home-cooked food, he also takes the Luncheon Club’s market stall out to food festivals across the area.
Kath Breckon — NYES Catering, North Yorkshire Council – 12.00
An award-winning Food Development Manager and education ambassador, Kath champions local suppliers and a true farm-to-fork approach across her work in education catering. Returning to Stokesley Show again for 2026!.
Jon Appleby — Middlesbrough College – 1.00
Head Chef at Middlesbrough College and the college’s on-site Waterside Brasserie, Jon brings years of experience from the region’s top restaurants and major food festivals, and now enjoys passing that knowledge on to the next generation of chefs.
Roberto Pittalis — Café Lilli – 2.00
Originally from Sardinia, Roberto co-owns Café Lilli in Norton-on-Tees, bringing a Mediterranean flair and a genuine commitment to local produce, with the majority of the restaurant’s ingredients sourced from the surrounding area.
Alex Cook — The Mill, Il Mulino, The Hood & Industry Café and Diner – 3.00
A highly trained chef with experience across every corner of the catering world, Alex is the driving force behind four of Stokesley’s own much-loved food and drink venues, and there’s nobody better placed to represent our town’s food scene.

Each of our chefs will be taking to the showground for live food demonstrations throughout the day, showing just what can be created with the wonderful produce grown, reared, and landed right here in North Yorkshire. Whether you’re a keen home cook or just love good food, it’s a fantastic chance to pick up tips from the best in the business.
